Novo Nordisk Contacted the CRS Group looking for a super mega cold storage room. They require a temperature range of 2-8°C and a capacity equal to 340ft containers combined together.

Novo Nordisk needed to be in operation on site in Denmark within a tight 2-month timeframe.

This was due to a major shut down of their internal cold-room and required a complete overhaul of the cooling plant.

The main priority was the temperature profile. It was necessary to ensure that temperature could be effectively controlled for the storage of high value products for a minimum period of 6-months. This meant monitoring temperature between 2-8° C to meet the requirements of Novo Nordisk.

Due to CRS having necessary expertise within the Pharma industry, we were able to showcase our wealth of knowledge in the field and provide Novo Nordisk with the vital information that their local suppliers could not.

CRS Pharma aimed to cater to every requirement to ensure that Novo Nordisk could benefit from the best. The removal of existing mega cold stores was required, thus, CRS’s installation team worked with Novo Nordisk to ensure that work was carried out to their standards.

After the removal of existing cold stores, the new mega stores were quickly installed. Subsequently, after reviewing the local residential area CRS additionally supplied and filled noise attenuation to the ThermoKing units. This was to drop the decibel levels below the maximum allowable level for the site.

To ensure that the installation provided was of high quality, CRS contracted a local ThermoKing service centre to carry out routine preventative maintenance. Additional emergency service was offered, if calls were ever needed.

The CRS Mega cold store was put through a qualification process by Novo Nordisk and their Temperature Mapping studies showed that the temperature within all product storage areas was maintained within the required 2-8°C, even during the hot Summer months in Denmark.

The entire project was successful, the CRS cold stores were delivered and installed within good time and budget.
